Handmade Charity Policy

Over the years the Handmade Market have supported a number of Canberra charities, amongst others, Givit, Bosom Buddies ACT, Dragons Abreast ACT, Motor Neuron Disease, The Yellow Van, The Red Cross QBN, Menslink, Sids and Kids, Painting with Parkinsons, Karinya House and Vinnies.

Through the annual Salvation Army blanket drive at the market, we collect blankets and warm clothing for Canberrans in need (some years we collected enough to supply them for a whole winter!).  Since 2008, we’re proud to say we’ve raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local charities.

We regularly partner with Canberra charities such as Rise Above by having them our designated door greeter charities, collecting funds to distribute to those that need them most.

We do not charge an entry fee to the market.  Instead, we encourage customers to make a gold coin donation to the door greeters as they enter the market.

Because of our partnership with these organisations, we are not currently accepting applications for charities to collect donations at our market events.
