Handmade Ambassador Program

The Handmade Ambassador Program was a new initiative for 2023 that we are super excited about continuing into 2024. The program allows you to be highlighted as one of the superstar members in our midst, and it will unlock a host of benefits that we are sure will get you very excited. We are looking for those of you who believe in us and our brand to be part of this new program, with the goal of forming a mutually beneficial relationship where everyone wins!

Because we know that there are going to be some VERY excited members hoping to secure an ambassador spot, we will only be opening registrations for a short timeframe each year and spots are limited. Registrations for the 2024 Ambassador Program are now closed.

Information about the Ambassador Program

To be eligible to register your interest in the Handmade Ambassador Program you must:

  • Be super passionate about Handmade Canberra.
  • Have been a member with Handmade for 2 years (ie. you have paid at least 2 membership/admin fee invoices) and be planning to continue your membership for the remainder of 2024
  • Have attended a minimum of 5 in-person markets with us

The benefits of being a Handmade Ambassador are:

  • You are automatically accepted into as many of the 4 markets held yearly that you would like to attend (a commitment to a minimum of 3 markets is required). You will still need to complete the market application form to apply for each market. This ensures we include you in our market process and ensures your current preferences are captured. You will be automatically guaranteed an “Accepted” response when offers go out. How awesome is that!
  • You are able to nominate your stall site preferences from the floor plan at each market you attend. While all of our stall sites are created equally, we definitely know that some of you have stall sites you prefer. This gives the flexibility for YOU to choose where you want to be.
  • You get an earlier bump in time (if you would like!)
  • You will be provided with a special Handmade Ambassador Badge to wear at the market. And you get to keep it forever.
  • You will be highlighted on our website as an Ambassador.
  • You will gain access to our exclusive “Ambassador Facebook Group”.
  • Preference will be given to you to be included in any relevant media callouts we receive. It’s a perfect opportunity for you to get seen by larger audiences who love Handmade.

If you are offered a position in the Handmade Ambassador program, your commitment would be the following:

  • Regularly update your Handmade profile in the Directory to include new product images to keep things fresh and exciting.
  • Promote your attendance at Handmade via your social media channels and any other marketing channels such as email. This includes adding the official Handmade Facebook event to your business pages.
  • Regularly comment on Handmade social media posts on Facebook and Instagram to assist us in increasing our organic reach.
  • Encourage new people to apply to become a Handmade Member when the opportunity arises.
  • Assist with mentoring new stallholders at each market you attend ie. You will be assigned a “buddy” (first-time stallholder) to make them feel welcome into the handmade community.

Please note, this ambassadorship is at no extra cost to you. To accept your place in the program and secure your position, we will require you to pay a non-refundable deposit, as a lump sum, of $150 for each market you wish to attend. The deposit amount you pay will be automatically deducted (at the rate of $150 per market) from your market invoices throughout the year. For example, if you wish to secure 3 market spots for the year, you will be sent an invoice for $450 ($150 x 3). If you wish to secure all four markets, a deposit of $600 would be required ($150 x 4). This invoice needs to be paid upon accepting your position as a Handmade Ambassador and will be sent within a few weeks of the registration closing date.
