Here’s who is new at our June Winter Market in Canberra!
If you are looking for something to do during the colder months, our June winter markets in Canberra are just the thing! With over 260 stallholders from all over Australia showcasing their wares across three indoor pavilions (all with heating!) each Winter, we are sure you will find some new designers and producers to fall in love with. The 14-15 June Winter market has some fantastic new stallholders and we were super excited to welcome them! Let us introduce you to just some of the new faces in the Handmade Community who will be joining us this June.
The Gracie Collection is a jewellery brand that was started by Gracie when she was 16 years old. Taking inspiration from her surroundings, especially the natural world, Gracie uses stones collected from other small businesses around the world and all recycled metal to make as little environmental footprint as possible. Gracie’s jewellery is made to last, ready to go on every adventure with you.
Beansprout Studio creates a range of bespoke ceramics designed to enhance the everyday. Each piece is handcrafted by Anwen using a selection of high-fired Australian stoneware clays and unique, handmade glazes. Beansprout pieces are designed with functionality and durability in mind, with the hope that they are used often and with love.
Fun and nostalgia are the key essence of Mary Cheng Art‘s work, conjuring memories of places travelled and experiences lived. Her work is a narrative of the intersection of her identity as Malaysian-Australian and her unique perspective cultivated from travelling extensively and living in rural and urban Australia, Asia, and Italy. Mary has an innate ability to connect observers to her art, using funny moments and nostalgia to bring her creative vision to life.
Sunday Pet Jumpers are one-of-a-kind accessories designed and handmade by Edith to keep your best friend cute and cosy. What started as an craft project to make a tank top for her dog, Pickles, now sees Edith handpick preloved knitwear which she turns into totally unique patchwork pieces for all our furry friends. Everything is designed and handmade in Edith’s home studio in Brunswick, Melbourne/Naarm.
Bumi Botanicals is an independent florist that specialises in unique, handmade, wearable pieces crafted from Australian plants. They creatively repurpose all stages of plant life, transforming old leaves and flowers into distinctive wearable items. With a passion for repurposing, Bumi breathes new life into these materials while honouring the spiritual significance of each flower.
Gibson and Co Makers produce hand crafted, wheel thrown ceramics, using a variety of Australian made mid fire clay bodies from stoneware and black clay to translucent porcelain. Every piece is hand thrown, finished and signed by Andrew Gibson, who has also developed their unique range of glazes. From utilitarian, everyday pieces to larger one-off forms, their work is elegant, simple, and beautiful.
Louie and the Fox create colourful clothing and accessories for babies and kids, all handmade in Melbourne and featuring cute animals, birds, and floral prints. Their delightful range includes bibs, bloomer sets, and rompers, as well as a fun range of homewares to help out with those inevitable messes.
Fluffy Crunch makes award winning, Australian made gourmet fairy floss using real ingredients like freeze dried fruits, Nutella, and popping candy, just to name a few. Known for its creative flavours and handcrafted quality, it has won multiple fine food awards and is perfect for events, gifts, or treating yourself.
Red Peg Laser intricately laser cut timber to make unique homewares and gifts. Their range includes hanging planters, windchimes, diffusers, coasters, and pet accessories. Everything is designed and made in their Eumundi studio on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
