Your CBR Weekend

Things are definitely getting festive in the nation’s capital. We know that you’ll be joining us at the Handmade Market next weekend. Over three days, we’ll be open so you can fill your bags with gorgeous designer pieces, local produce and Australian gifts. On Friday 7th December, we will be open for our twilight market from 5pm until 9pm. Meet friends for a drink, have a street food snack, taste our gourmet selection and shop for handmade gifts. We’ll be doing it all over again from 10am until 4pm on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December, so you have even more hours to shop.

But while you’re enjoying your market weekend in Canberra, there are plenty of other events to attend and places to see, eat and drink. Once you’ve exhausted your shopping hours, why not try something else?

The Canberra Theatre Centre is hosting this worldwide phenomenon from 6th December onwards. This spectacular show includes eight of the most incredible illusionists on earth and features illusion, levitation, mind reading, and disappearance. With beautiful set design and costumes, it promises to look great and provide great entertainment. Book your tickets HERE.

Sunset Cinema at the Botanic Gardens is a wonderful evening out. Lounge under the stars with a picnic and listen to the wildlife around you while watching the latest blockbusters. Book your tickets HERE.

In partnership with the British Museum, the National Museum of Australia’s exhibition, Rome: City and Empire, is on at the moment. It contains many artefacts never seen before outside Europe and includes statues, frescoes and bronze cavalry masks. On Wednesday 5th December, you can start your weekend early with a special event called Rome up Late. For adults only, it’s a showcase of the grisly underbelly of ancient Rome, including bar, a selection of expert speakers and movie screening. Booking is essential. Click HERE for details.

If you’re hanging around after the market, join the festive fun with Canberra’s own Christmas festival, Merry & Bright. Running from 13th December through until Christmas, there is a dinner, a DJ party, kids’ activities, street art, decorations, festive lighting, a trackless train and a live Christmas tree forest. Head to the WEBSITE for details and enjoy the holiday season in Canberra.
