As it’s baby mania everywhere a the moment, we thought it might be an idea to have a look at the creative and talented Handmade designers who are catering to the needs of the little ones. This is such a strong category for Handmade that we’re struggling to select just a few to show you, so we might just indulge in this one. Not least because Julie is about to become a grandmother for the first time! With everything on offer in the Handmade design halls, we’re pretty sure this baby is going to have the best of everything.
We are just a little bit overwhelmed by how beautiful the products and images are from these designers. Have a look below and we’re sure you’ll agree.
Mop & Dolly makes handmade collections of clothing, accessories & play items for little people. They’re created to last, designed to be handed down and made with lots of love. Totally irresistible.
Frankie + Roy creates on trend yet timeless children’s clothing in sizes 1 -10. Saying goodbye to fast fashion, this is a boys’ clothing label focusing on classic stylish clothing but with a unique fit. It has brought waistlines in without compromising on length.
Little Eskimo is a small handmade Newcastle label specialising in newborn and toddler essentials. The range includes clothing such as rompers, leggings, beanies and headbands. It also includes fitted cot sheets and swaddle blankets.
Chalk n Cheese Clothing has been producing beautifully made childrenswear (and womenswear) in Melbourne since 2004. Original and special, these clothes are made to be worn and played in, making your kids feel they’re on top of the world.
Popppy & Pom was founded by mother/daughter duo Heather & Rachel. Their design philosophy is to create something unique, using quality fabrics that can be passed along.
Kiva, Made for Fun produces unique, unisex, high quality children’s apparel and accessories. Drawing inspiration from northern European textile design and construction, this collection is practical, versatile and will last the test of time, letting children be children.
Tiny Finery creates charming clothes in sizes 00-6 that are both unique & practical. Created in Melbourne, the understand that mums & dads want clothes that wash well, wear well, and cleverly hide little messes. The T Shirts are made from 100% Australian Certified Organic fabric (produced in Melbourne). The dresses are made from the infamous Liberty of London fabrics.
ArchieBee is inspired by the timeless fashion of the past and the magic of childhood. Designed and hand-crafted in the Blue Mountains, and using only natural textiles, these threads for boys and girls up to six are made to last well.
Le Petit Bouton is a children’s headwear and accessory label, designed and handmade in regional Victoria/. The focus is on quality, comfort and sustainability. It’s also terribly pretty.
The Woollen Earth uses the finest quality Australian pure Merino Wool in its chunkiest form to make play mats, children’s fashion accessories and headwear.
TOYS AND THE NURSERY
Sweet Sista is created by two sisters with a penchant for beautiful handmade nursery decor, baby clothing and accessories. Their handmade items are both gender neutral and ever changing, while also beautiful, unique and well crafted.
Miss Molly’s creates a wide range of artisan wooden toys for Australian kids. Based in East Gippsland, Victoria, Miss Molly’s toys are designed and handcrafted the way toys have been made for countless generations. The timber used is sourced locally from East Gippsland, either by hand or from sustainable timber mills and each toy is finished with eco-friendly, non toxic paints and sealers.
Canberrans, Speckled Frog Toys and Gifts, creates a range of rattles, soft toys, dolls and nursery décor items designed to inspire your child’s imagination and encourage learning through creative play. The range includes traditional soft rattles and toys, dolls and animal friends and handmade activity play mats.
Two Alike brings new and funky crochet designs to your children and your home. Using a variety of textures in yarn, from wool to cotton to recycled, there is something for everyone.
