The Canberra Club
THE CANBERRA CLUB
At Handmade, we curate beautiful designs and produce from around Australia. If it’s considered, handmade, unique and beautiful, we’re keen to showcase it. And it has to be made here in Australia. For its population, the Canberra region is home to a wonderfully high proportion of our stallholders. Our little corner of Australia is thriving with food and drinks producers who are leading the way. And we are spoiled with the amount of talent among our artists and designers. If you want to see all of the stallholders who come from this region, head to the category in our DIRECTORY. There you will find all the locals attending the next market on 29 & 30 June at EPIC.
FOOD & DRINK
Let’s start with the foodies who are making waves locally. And where better than with the sweetest? Willows Biscuit House makes shortbread and melting moments from only Australian ingredients in 20 indulgent flavour combinations. And if your tooth is very sweet, try The Sweet Tooth Society for original recipes, made with love and a touch of Latin American passion. For something warming, head to Pop Up Poffertjes, who serve up Dutch sweet treats cooked fresh to order.
Many of our street food stalls come from Canberra. Mr Papa Peruvian Street Food is a perennial favourite, as is Super Bao. And don’t forget to pick up your potato on a stick from Kurbside Kitchen. But these are just the tip of the iceberg – you really need to experience our Gourmet Food Hall, and so many stalls are, happily, local. Pantry staples are also made right here, from the tasty snacks by Barbell Biltong to black garlic from Garlicious Grown. And Pialligo Estate is the place to go for cured meats and gourmet supplies.
Canberra is on the map as far as drinks are concerned. Grab a cocktail from The Canberra Distillery. Or try a non-alcoholic drink from Real Chai, Krave Juice or Altina Drinks to quench your thirst.

We’ll be looking after our Canberra homes if we pick up some of the delights on offer by Canberra designers. Newcomer, Made by Marcelle, has modern concrete containers that will add style to your table. We’re also big fans of Made From Good Deeds, whose simple and minimal display solutions will make your art and photos shine. Canberra does lighting well too. Jervis Bay Candle Co. will be coming to Handmade for the first time in June with their stylish flames. And you can chat with Jumble Light, whose innovative shades will cast an interesting glow in your home.
Pick up some statement jewellery by LLL Designs or something subtle from bopdotz. Add a touch of style to your outfit with a headpiece from Sovata or treat yourself to some pearls from local, Jane Brown.
Canberra hasn’t forgotten the littles ones. Toys from Sweet Sista and Speckled Frog will make them smile and become favourites. And for the puzzlers, head to Marja Leena, a local artist who turns childlike art into jigsaws and more. You can also pick up a book for your little one from Tusk Books. Colourful illustrations and an environmental message will be sure to entertain and inform.
So now you can see, Canberra is a creative place, and we’ll be celebrating this in style at Handmade in June. Come and see for yourself at EPIC, Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June, 10am – 4pm.
