Our Gourmet Food Hall

Handmade is not just about design. It is also about Australian grown and made produce. Our producers not only grow their own, but also invent inspired recipes for sauces, jams, chutneys, vinegars and wines. They bake, steam, stew and craft their food and drink until the alchemy is complete, and then package it in beautiful jars, bottles and boxes and display it for you to see, discover, taste and buy.

Handmade is proud to bring all of these amazing people together in the Gourmet Food Hall, which this weekend (5 & 6 May) will be packed with foodies intent on stocking their larders with the best Australian produce.

Within the hall, there is a dedicated drinks area, where you can sample spirits or indulge in cocktails from local up and coming distilleries. You can taste a number of cool climate wines and chat to the winemakers themselves. And you can sample local artisan beers, making sure of course that you take some home with you to enjoy later.

Coffee connoisseurs will be able to watch the baristas perform their magic in both the Coorong and Budawang buildings and if coffee isn’t your thing, there are several tea options, ginger beer and cold fresh juices to keep your thirst quenched.

Those with a sweet tooth will not be disappointed. Doughnuts, macarons, biscuits, cakes, cannoli, marshmallows and chocolate. With Mothers’ Day only a week after the market, a gift of handmade indulgence will be sure to make Mum happy.

Canberra’s biggest indoor street food selection will also be on offer, so you can enjoy even more time at Handmade, knowing that you won’t be hungry. From Cuban to Greek and Aussie to Asian, there are flavours to suit all tastes, including vegetarian and vegan options, for breakfast, lunch and snacks. So, see you at Handmade, 10am until 4pm Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th May, Exhibition Park. Parking and entry are free.
