National Pet Day

National Pet Day is celebrated every year on April 11 and is a great opportunity to celebrate just how wonderful pets are at bringing an abundance of joy into your life! Here at Handmade we know that pets need more attention than just food and water- they deserve special treatment too – and today we are share with you the furry friends within the Handmade team!

Julie and Tiger

Julie and Tiger

Julie has too many cats to mention in public. Crazy cat lady much? Here she is pictured with Tiger, who is a 7 year old domestic short haired cat.

Tiger’s name was given to her because of her stripes and she is a twin to Merry (not pictured). Some would say Merry was named because Julie loves Christmas, but she is actually named after the suburb in Murrumbateman where they live.

Tiger and Merry are very snuggly, but usually only with the person that feeds them!

Ros jax and boo

Ros, Boo and Jax

Ros has two pooches, Boo and Jax.

Boo is a 4 year old brindle staffy. Boo’s name originated from a work colleague of Ros’ husband, who kept saying that she was “Bootiful”. Boo is a very person orientated dog (much like her mama) and just about breaks in half when she wags her tail!

Jax is 3, and is a cross between an Irish Wolfhound, Bull Arab, Great Dane (and any other large dog you can think of). He is really Ros’ son’s dog, but she loves him to bits anyway! Jax love, love, LOVES water and will swim in the dams on their property whenever he gets a chance. He is lanky, goofy and totally adorable. Can you tell Ros loves them both to bits?

Justine and Graham

While Justine has no pets of her own, she did volunteer with Guide Dogs WA Australia for 7 years and raised 6 puppies when living in Western Australia. She also sponsored a puppy in training through the Perth Upmarket, called Graham, who has just been matched with a client. He was named after Justine’s Uncle Graham who passed away from Melanoma and was a dog lover.

Since moving back to NSW last year, she has become a pet sitter with Pet Cloud to get her puppy fix, and walks Frog and Derek every week. She also does occasional pet sitting and quite often shows up to our Team Meetings on Zoom with a dog on her lap!

National Pet Day Ella and Hudson

Ella and Hudson

This is Hudson, a very sweet natured Golden retriever. Hudson, more affectionately known as Huddy, has been part of the family for 4 years and since Ella and Huddy are only 5 days apart in birthday’s, they are practically twins (obviously!)

Totally spoiled, he enjoys long walks, laying on the couch and convincing you he has not been fed! He is a very good boy!
