Self-taught Canberra artist Frances McMahon has been obsessively painting Australia’s beautiful native birds in watercolour since age five.
An international and multi-award winning artist, her astonishingly detailed paintings are masterfully and painstakingly created using the tiniest of brushes and finest quality lightfast paints on museum board. A single painting may take several weeks to complete.
In March 2025, Frances was granted membership and title of Art Renewal Centre Associate Living Master (ARCALM). This is an internationally recognised title, with only 14 other Australian artists represented.
Frances now offers limited (and open) edition giclée prints, greeting cards and other beautiful items.
