The Handmade Canberra team offer Gift Cards as prizes in the giveaways and promotions we run via our social media channels. They need to be used at the in-person markets and cannot be purchased or redeemed online.

How the Gift Cards Work

If a customer presents a Gift Card to make a purchase at your stall, you need to follow these steps:

  • Treat the Gift Card like you are taking cash from the customer.  That means if the customer spends less than the voucher amount, you need to provide them with the correct change from your cash float.  If the customer’s purchase is more than the amount on the Gift Card, the customer will need to pay you the remaining balance once the Gift Card balance has been taken into consideration. For example: If a customer selects a product worth $75 at your stall and the Gift Card amount is for $50, the customer will need to complete the transaction by paying the remaining $25 to you via one of your available payment methods. If a customer selects a product worth $25 at your stall and the Gift Card amount is for $50, you will need to provide the customer with $25 in cash.
  • Present the Gift Card to the Handmade Canberra Reception desk and advise one of our team members that you have received a Gift Card from a customer.  The amount of the Gift Card will be reimbursed to the account of your choosing within a few business days.

IMPORTANT:  Do not worry about the expiration date on the Gift Card. We have extended the dates on all Gift Cards for an additional two years due to the lack of in-person markets during the Pandemic.
