Your Handmade Market – Producers

Yesterday, we walked you through some of the designers you won’t want to miss at the Handmade Market this weekend. Today, it’s the turn of the producers, those people who are growing, concocting and packaging Australia’s tastiest provisions. And we’ll also give you a full rundown of our wonderful street food vans who will keep you fed and watered so you have enough energy to shop the day away.


Sauces, jams, chutneys, oils, vinegars and spices are all represented at Handmade. Try the delicious sauces from Canberra locals, Thirst Thai, and spice up your life with sauces from The Chilli Effect. Sutton Forest Olives will be bringing local oils and olive products and Handmade regulars, Sticky Balsamic, will be bringing their original flavours. Chutneys and jams will be represented by, among others, Made by Katherine, Josh&Sue and Elfreds and cured meats will be available from Pialligo Smokehouse so your pantry can be fully stocked in time for Autumn.

Sweet treats are also in abundance. Indulge in chocolate from newcomers, Sydney Chocolate, or return to regulars, Cicada, Enigma and Jasper + Myrtle. Sort out your home baking with cookie doughs from Baked by Mum, or indulge in the ready made treats from Veganarchy and Rosebery Street Bakehouse. Alfamores will be presenting their Argentinian delicacies and Poetry Fine Foods will be bringing their butter crunch toffee and popcorn.


We are very lucky that Canberra’s reputation as a wine region is growing fast. Three wineries will be represented, so chat to the experts from Quarry Hill, Mount Majura and Twisted River. For something stronger, head over to Baldwin Distillery for whiskey and moonshine or The Canberra Distillery for gin. And what better way to complement that gin than with Sin-Kō-Nah‘s tonic syrup? Coffee lovers will enjoy Bellerophon‘s cold brew, while tea drinkers can head over to Tea Garden or Ricococo’s Chocolate Tea for supplies.

Too much choice! The scents and aromas of international cuisine will keep you in our gourmet food hall for a long time trying to decide what to eat. Savoury selections come in the form of bratwursts from Berlin Bangers, Peruvian plates from Mr Papa, Indian fayre from Tikka Stand and a Greek feast (and some plate smashing!) at Ilias the Greek. Burra Berkshires will be serving their free range pork burgers, complemented by Kurbside Kitchen‘s potato on a stick. Uncle Juan’s Bakehouse will be bringing deliciously flakey pies, while Gourmet Gozlème will be serving up their mouthwatering pastries.

Not full yet? We have a wide selection of sweet treats from crêpes by Le Petit Breton to freshly made doughnuts from Krofne. Cannoli Brothers are bringing their Italian delicacies which will vie for attention with The Italian Traveller’s gelato, and chocolate lovers will appreciate Loose Gourmet Churros.

And to drink, fresh lemonade from Krave will quench your thirst, as will cold pressed cane juice from Ethel & Ah Loy for a healthy choice. And caffeine will also be on tap, courtesy of Two Before Ten and My Sweet Alice.
