What’s new for June?

It’s exactly a month until the June Handmade Market! On Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th June, two pavilions at EPIC will be packed with gorgeous gifts, stylish homewares, fabulous fashion and delicious food from 10am until 4pm. As usual, we have some exciting new designers to add to the Handmade offering and here’s our pick of some of the new faces.

Our fashion offering will be enhanced by Mónica the Label, who has a vision of offering the modern, voluptuous woman an answer to her wardrobe woes. “I hope to increase confidence in extra curvaceous women by providing them with beautiful, well made garments which will make them look like well dressed, striking women“. This label is for the extra curvy woman who wants to flaunt her goddess-like curves in the latest trends. Monica makes all of the garments herself from pattern making through to the finished product and loves seeing the finished result on her happy customers.

To accessories your new outfit, head to Atelier Nómada, a Melbourne-based contemporary jewellery brand that uses clusters, nature and geometry in a spontaneous way – fusing architectural and structured with free-form and organic. The range includes rings, earrings, pendants, necklaces and brooches for men and women. Designer Flavia Barar is a trained architect, which shows in her beautiful work.Altelier1On the homewares front, Crayon Chick has a range of hand-crafted homewares, jewellery and accessories featuring old crafts and new tricks. Crayon Chick explores fibres, textiles and traditional techniques, with the current range focusing on traditional and ancient rope knotting techniques.

Still on the home front, Maya Muse Textiles combines the raw beauty of linen, the unique characteristics of the hand screen printing process and Australian inspired prints to create beautiful textiles for the home. Designed, printed and sewn in Sydney, the collection is lovingly made the old fashioned way; screen printed by hand, using hand mixed inks and beautiful 100% linen.

If you’ve got a special furry friend, why not take a look at Funky Cat? Funky Cat started in 2002 with the aim to provide high quality, custom made cat furniture that was unique, visually appealing, interactive, robust and stable enough to withstand even the largest and most energetic cats! With a large choice of colour, texture and durability, you’re sure to find the perfect present for Puss.
Heading to our gourmet food hall? Kusina may just have the lunch you’ve been looking for. Showcasing the fabulous cuisine from the Philippines, Kusina already has a popular restaurant in Weston Creek. The market stall features items not on their regular menu with a street food bias. Is your mouth watering yet? Only a month to go!
