Waiting for the nod
The team at Berlin Bangers can’t wait to come the Handmade Market next week (yes, it’s next week!) and given that they are gold medal winners with the accolade of Sydney’s best sausage (at the Royal Easter Show), we all have a treat in store.
Berlin Bangers wants to bring the best sausages to Australian festivals. It’s a familiar sight to see people smiling and nodding with approval when they take their first bite, and the team never tires of this nod and wants to see how the Canberra public reacts.
All their meat is Free Range Riverina Pork, the sausages are gluten, dairy and filler free and hand crafted by the best German butcher. The Sauerkraut is made after grandma’s recipe and the Soda is homemade and all natural. They also offer Australia’s first vegan Bratwurst. With a choice of Sauerkraut, onions, jalapeños, relishes, gherkins, cheese, slaw and a Mustard Bar (offering a variety of 6 different mustards), these sausages come in a lot of combinations.
They’ll be arriving next weekend with their 50s caravan in bright colours, the modern grunge of Berlin, street art and a delicious smell coming from the lava-rock grill hanging off the side, all contributing to a unique relaxed and happy vibe. The van isn’t just gorgeous though, it’s sustainable too. It’s equipped with solar energy, meaning they don’t need any extra power. They also have their own water supply and capture all grey water. And they only use post-consumer recycled or biodegradable plant-based packaging.
These guys know how to help. From every sausage sold they donate to alleviate malnutrition in remote hill tribe villages in Northern Laos. Together with the Bamboo School Foundation they fund annual pig vaccinations and the development of vegetable gardens and associated ongoing training in vegetable farming.
So, don’t miss out on the good stuff arriving next week at Handmade. And don’t forget to nod your approval after that first bite.
