The Winter Handmade market is THIS WEEKEND. Come to EPIC, where you will be treated to two halls full of beautiful stalls run by Australia’s best designers and producers.
Focusing on design for this article, here’s a small guided tour of some of the products you’ll find at Handmade this weekend. If you’re keen to see a full list of all our stallholders, head over to our DIRECTORY, look at the list in our MAGAZINE or read about them in the BLOG.
As Winter really sets in, Handmade has an array of cosy homewares to help you warm up your place. Beautifully hand printed textiles from the likes of Laughing Bird, Ink & Weave, Blue Radish and Femke Textiles will be sure to add pattern to your home, and ceramics from Birdy & Clementine, Hayden Youlley, LouiseM or Linogirl will contribute simple statement pieces. Vintage homewares from Industriana, Kingfish & Co and Twice Designs may be to your taste, and quirky extras by Tread & Pedals or Crayon Chick make for great talking points.
If you’re really chilly, head to one of our wool-lovers. The Australian Wool Store, One Tree Hill Alpaca, Yarn Hub and Signatur Handknits will supply the warmth, along with blankets by Leroy Mac. Warmth from candles will be provided by Lush, Little Flame Co and Honey and Glow to name just a few.
If you’re still relishing the great outdoors on Canberra’s sunny Winter days, take a picnic blanket from Emby Love, or decorate your garden with sculptures and fire pits from Ironworx.
We’re thrilled with the quality and style of our amazing fashion designers. Wendy Voon and Zoe Georgiou will be bringing racks of knitwear, or head to Rockstars & Royalty or Zilpah Tart for Canberra’s finest dresses. Jude, Leatheron and Ariella cater for ladies and gents with bespoke tailoring and Big Sistah and Joolz will have pieces to suit every shape and size.
We wish we could list all of the intricate jewellers who will be selling at Handmade this weekend, but a curated selection includes Appleye, with delicate silver, Time Flies Designs with unique mechanical jewellery, Vintage Spirit with repurposed pieces and LLL Designs with fun. Please come and browse the full selection and we guarantee you will find the perfect gift or indulgence. Dressed for Sunday will be happy to accessorise the gentlemen and purses and bags will be on display at One Thousand Lines and Gabby Lane.
Milkbox make clever craft kits for the little ones and Tinta crayons will have them drawing in a flash. Cuddly toys from What I Made and Edge of the Forest will thrill the very small ones, while fashion from Monstar Kids and Archiebee will have them well dressed. Don’t forget to stop at Wombat and Poss for gorgeous and important beanies.
We have a whole crew of artists with all styles from large canvasses to intricate pencil drawings. Head to Kylie Van Tol for a centrepiece or Little Noisy Miner for simple sketches. Keep it local with Leafy Sea Dragon and Trevor Dickinson and don’t forget the art for children by Fizzy Pop.
For him, The Mister Brand offers grooming products with earth friendly credentials, and for her, stop and chat to Just Lippy about the perfect shade. Perfume from Amacyn and Rich creams from Delicious Skin will get you through the Winter months.
We could talk all day about our designers, but the list stands at 250, so come along on Saturday and Sunday, 10am – 4pm each day and see for yourself. Our designers are not only talented, but also very keen to talk about how they made their beautiful products, so stop and chat to find out more. See you at the weekend!
