Soap by Anne Zellik is Soap Byanne. Based here in Canberra, Byanne’s range includes handmade soap, with beautiful scents such as sandalwood, lavender, sage and gardenia, to name a few. As Anne is a regular at Handmade, and back again on 10 & 11 September, 10am – 4pm, we asked her our five questions:
1. What is your business all about?
My business is about handmade soap and body products made in small batches, with love and passion by me here in Canberra. My soaps are palm free, using only the highest quality oils and butters which I purchase from Sydney or WA, and where I can I source ingredients local to the region which include my botanical and essential oils. There are lots of whole food shops in Canberra that supply organic oils and clays that go into my soaps and skin products. I also have a fun range for kids, using palm free organic glycerine soap.
2. What advice would you give to first time stall holders at Handmade?
Be prepared for anything and everything, but most of all enjoy yourself and talk to the customers about your product, they really like to hear how things are made and where they come from.
3. What’s the best thing about Handmade?
I love the vibe and energy and being part of such a creative community and sharing that with people. It’s special.
4. What’s new for the next market?
I am making new soap and bath range and I’m planning on having a new handcrafted table and set up which I have had custom made for me by Reclaimed Pallets in Queanbeyan.
5. Sum up your business in THREE words.
Made with Love!
We can’t wait to see and smell what you’ve got in store for us at the market Anne!
