Helen Walker is a Melbourne-based designer whose collection of children’s wear, toys and accessories comes under the banner of Miss Ruby-May, which will be available the Handmade Market on 10 & 11 September (10am – 4pm). Helen is excited to be attending for the first time, and was happy to answer our three questions:1. What is your business all about?
Two little handcrafted dolls for my nieces were the beginning of Miss Ruby-May. Our dolls have evolved over time and our range has expanded to include stylish decor, which is still designed and lovingly handcrafted in Melbourne. Our range currently includes cushions, rattles, garlands, playmats, masks and of course our Miss Ruby-May dolls. We love to create beautiful items and custom orders are always welcome.2. What made you apply to Handmade?
I have followed Handmade Canberra for a very long time and hoped to one day participate in such a wonderful event, which allows makers to showcase their products. I finally made it to the June market and knew instantly that I had to apply. Thank you for the opportunity. (You’re most welcome!)3. Sum up your business in THREE words.
