The March Market will see an increase in the number of stalls selling beauty, skincare and grooming brands. More alchemists than ever will be serving up everything you need to pamper and care for yourself from lipstick to essential oils, home fragrance to moisturisers. This is very exciting because not only are these products effective, but also packaged beautifully. And newcomer, L’Ascari is definitely no exception. Melbourne-based Luca Chiaravalle talked to us about her collection.
Tell us about your business
L’ASCARI is a boutique company in Melbourne started in 2010, which creates small batch products including home fragrance and skin care with an ethical and sustainable core at the forefront. The products are designed and appeal to both men and women of all ages. All L’ASCARI home fragrance and personal care products are made in Australia using organic, plant derived ingredients and are not tested on animals. L’ASCARI candles contain environmentally friendly earth grown soy beans and cotton wicks and are made using traditional artisan methods by hand pouring the wax and hand blending the perfumes.
What made you apply to the Handmade Market?
It’s an ideal way to meet and mingle with other artisans and to promote the brand to customers who have never heard of L’ASCARI. Australia is filled with so many talented and creative people producing quality products and events like the Handmade Market allow us showcase them to the public.
What are you looking forward to most about your trip to Canberra?
I’ve not been to Canberra so I’m looking forward to seeing the city and meeting the locals.
Can you describe your place of work?
It is a warehouse which has a showroom for visitors to see the products, a manufacturing/packing area and my design/office area. It sounds like a big place but it’s quite compact and every space is utilised.
