Handmade Music

The Handmade Market is known for its great food and fabulous shopping, but we also pride ourselves on creating the right atmosphere. At the market this weekend, we are happy to present two live music acts.
Liam Wright is an indie folk/roots singer-songwriter from Canberra. Playing guitar since 2008 when he was only 9 years old, music has always been very important to him and he enjoys using his talents to entertain people. As a one man band, he does vocals, guitar, stomp box and tambourine to create a fuller sound to his music. A small start to his career in music was all he needed, busking and playing small shows around town. “Busking has always been one of my favourite ways to perform and it’s how I started out,” says Liam. After a few years of playing, Liam has been making good progress with his music, with the release of his first single and an album on the way.

DJ Whoa Nut will also be appearing at the market this weekend. Hailing from Queanbeyan and spending most of his time in Canberra, he’s come to love all music he can get his hands on. With so many influences, it’s hard to pigeonhole him into a genre. Either way, he tries hard to make something interesting that doesn’t follow rules and if it does, how can it break them? Have a listen and decide for yourselves.

Caroline Leevers is responsible for the Handmade brand, including the website, Handmade Style, the newsletter and the online magazine. When she's not hanging out with the lovely Handmade team, she runs Callie & Co Design, a Canberra graphic design studio that crafts brands for small businesses. Her favourite things about Canberra are the seasons (especially Autumn), the big sky, the coffee and the great events.
