There is something very special about Handmade’s gourmet food hall. With a combination of street food, wine and spirit tastings and artisan produce stalls, along with live music and a great atmosphere, it really is your one stop shop for local, Australian and international flavour.
Let’s start with street food, because it’s a good place to begin your day at Handmade. Coffee will be made fresh to order from Four Track Coffee and My Sweet Alice, while breakfast and sweet morning tea are served up in the form of crêpes from Le Petit Breton, Cannoli from Cannoli Brothers and made-on-the spot donuts by Krofne.
If you’re craving something savoury, The gozleme from Gourmet Gozleme needs to be tried, as does lunchtime fayre from Berlin Bangers, Mr Papa, Kusina, Yiannos and Yummy Thai. Jacket potatoes from Scotts Food Vans, potato on a stick from Kurbside Kitchen and pies & pasties from Uncle Juan’s Bakehouse will help fill you up, and for something truly warming, head to The Italian Traveller’s soup van.
If you still need sweet treats, Bombolini will have their local favourite doughnuts and Veganarchy will be serving up their delicious cakes, washed down with some Krave lemonade.
WINES & SPIRITS
The Handmade bar will be open with seating areas for you to meet friends for a drink. Quarry Hill Wines and Canberra by the Glass will be on hand to sell you wine by the glass and invite you to taste their wines from the local region. If you like it warm, Pallet & Vine will be selling delicious mulled wine. Our three distilleries, The Canberra Distillery, Catcher & Co and Baldwin Distillery will be serving spirits including gin and vodka and mixers from Made by Katherine and Bellerophon Cold Brew Coffee will complete your experience. Take some time out to chat at Handmade.
FROM THE PANTRY
Sutton Forest Olives are bringing oil, Sticky Balsamic are bringing vinegar and you have chutneys to choose from by Josh & Sue, Elfreds, Eat Me Chutneys, The Chilli Effect and more. Sauces from Thirst Thai and Saori Japanese Sauce will lend international flavour to your cooking and don’t forget your snacks from Barbell Biltong and Stockman Sticks. Breakfast toppers from Koja will add the health factor, along with probiotic drinks from Gift of our Earth. And for the tea lovers, Endeavour, Tea Garden and Ricococo’s Chocolate Tea have some special blends to share.
For those with a sweet tooth, grab a biscuit from Babic Biscuiteers and Rosebery Street Bakehouse or brownies from Baked by Mum. Stock up on Salted Caramel Sauce and feast on toffee apples from Caramel Cave. Oh dear, nearly forgot the chocolate. Jasper + Myrtle, Cicada and Enigma Fine Chocolates will be present to serve the sweet stuff, or try some liquorice from Uncle John.
For gifts, take home a hamper from The Local Larder and before you leave, pick up one of Quicksand Publishing’s regional cookbooks and your menus will be in good hands.
We’ll see you in food heaven this weekend, 10am until 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
