Harriet Turnidge is the creator behind AtMaryStreet, a beautiful soap maker, who has become a regular at the Handmade Markets. AtMaryStreet will be at the market on 10 & 11 December, so we asked Harriet to tell us more.
- What is your business all about?
atmarystreet is a small, urban flanked farm in the Southern Highlands of NSW. We produce by hand small batch, cold process soap bars enriched with the creamy nutrient dense milk from our flock of dairy sheep. Containing nearly twice the fat and protein content of more commonly available milks and high levels of vitamins and minerals, ewe’s milk soap has a creamy refined quality that cleanses without stripping delicate skin. In essence we are for the natural home, beautifully.
- What advice do you have for designers attending Handmade for the first time?
Make sure you tell your story! Only you know the intricacies of your product and process, customers may be curious but not know what questions to ask..
- What’s the best thing about Handmade?
The best thing about handmade is that it attracts people who appreciate handmade, Australian made, Australian designed treasures.
- What’s new for the Christmas Market?
This Christmas market we will be bringing our favourite range of ewes milk soap bars, along with a new postcard flyer to help encapsulate our story, to make that perfect gift.
- What will Santa be bringing you this year?
I’m big on functional handmade treasures that stand the test of time and integrate into your everyday, I’m sure to find my gift from ‘Santa’ at the next Handmade market, this December!
We’ll be joining you for our own Christmas shopping on 10 & 11 December. See you there!
